I think this image is a good summation of the event. We needed a lot of energy because we raised a lot. This year we raised $773.11!! Thank you to everyone who donated, we wouldn't have gone 27 hours without you. We did 27 out of 30 hours which is pretty damn close to our goal, but I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand we didn't get to our goal, but had we gone to 30 hours you likely would have seen my death live on air. So I am happy I am still alive to type this and will be able to host another marathon next year, and heck $773.11 will buy a LOT of games for those kids.
To everyone who won prizes, they will be shipped out to you tomorrow. Thank you so much.
We unfortunately had a ton of prizes that were not auctioned off, so we are doing a variety of things with what we have left. Some have been bundled together and given to those who donated and we leveled up a couple of the won prize packs. Some may end up on eBay in the next little while and the money will be donated to child's play, if and when they do we will be providing links here and via twitter. Others will be saved for next year.
If you haven't had enough of people playing video games to raise money for children, our competitor's BossBattles are still going strong. Check them out: http://bossbattles.org/ I wanted to beat them so bad, and it was pretty close for a while, overnight there were periods we were ahead of them by about a margin of $100. But the better team won, and in the end the children won the most.
I would like to thank our sponsors again. A&C Games in Toronto donated a cool prize pack and rented us a bunch of stuff. If you like the sort of games we were playing and live around Toronto check them out. Also Hairy Tarantula donated a few different prize packs, so a big thanks to them. Again if you are in Toronto and like board games, comics and other geekery check out one of their three locations. And I would also like to thank the cast and crew over at Todd & The Book of Pure Evil for donating 5 prize packs. Everyone should watch their show, I really enjoy it and really hope it gets renewed for another season (there's actually a group on facebook rooting for that, so go join it). And to everyone else who helped advertise us and put up posters. Check them all out on the sponsors page.
Finally I was so pleased with our results that I have decided we should do this next year, unless something comes up between now and then that prevents it. If you would like to watch or participate next year add us to twitter or email us NoPauseFundraiser (at) gmail. (dot) com and we will send out updates when they happen next year.
Thanks everybody. I hope you all have a great holiday season and have a great new years.
